What we list
- Baby parking and hourly nurseries — for a morning, an appointment, a shift that starts before the school does.
- Nurseries with hourly places — some have space that goes unused simply because nobody knows it exists.
- Licensed boarding kennels and catteries — for the days you cannot take the animal with you.
What we check, and what we do not
For every facility we ask for the authorisation to operate and we show the date we checked it, plus the capacity declared and the age range accepted. We do not inspect premises, we do not rate quality and we do not recommend one over another. Visit before you book: it takes twenty minutes and it tells you more than any listing.
Why this matters more here than elsewhere
Valtellina receives around 1.3 million arrivals and 4.3 million overnight stays a year, and the beds are highly concentrated — Livigno alone accounts for roughly a third. In the peak weeks, hotel and restaurant staff need childcare at exactly the hours the tourists do. A facility with an unused hourly place and a family that cannot find one are usually two streets apart.
